Mission
GCCBS provides care and shelter for 150 non native exotic birds. This includes parakeets finches lovebirds concures cockatiels parrots macaws cockatoos. The birds are surrendered to us by families animal control police and fire departments or found outside. Each bird receives infectious disease testing vet visit including blood testing a clean cage with toys and a diet including fresh fruit and vegetables highg quality seed and pellets. We also provide social interaction to meet their needs. The shelter currently has 150 birds. We are at capacity. We adopt around 85 birds this year and received 95 surrenders. For every surrender 6 are turned away. We follow the Avian Weelfare Coalitin adoption guidelines.
