Mission
Grandmothers for Gun Responsibility was formed to mobilize the elder voice as a trusted nonpartisan force to help end gun violence and protect families. Drawing on experience wisdom and a deep commitment to children and grandchildren the organization elevates grandparents and allies as advocates for responsible gun practices. The organizations purpose is to reduce gun violence through public education and awareness and long-term culture change. A key focus is promoting the secure storage of firearms to prevent harm. A core focus of the organization is promoting the secure storage of firearms as a critical step in preventing injury and death. Grandmothers for Gun Responsibility works to establish secure storage as a consistent household practice and a recognized social norm. By engaging communities and amplifying the voices of older generations the organization aims to inspire action and increase awareness.
