CENTRAL COAST LAND CONSERVANCY INC

The CCLC is an all-volunteer group and cannot meet the great need for land conservation and stewardship that exists in Lincoln and Western Lane Counties. The MidCoast Watersheds Council is a staffed non-profit group that conserves and restores habitats for fish and wildlife, water quality and quantity and watershed health. MCWC has agreed to work with existing land trusts in our service area including Western Rivers Conservancy, The Nature Conservancy, The Conservation Fund, The Wetlands Conservancy, and McKenzie River Trust to prioritize and conserve and steward land in our those parts of our service areas. Being able to work with many landtrusts to hold and steward land increases the abililty to accomplish prioritized conservation needs.

The North Coast Land Conservancy has agreed to continue such work in Tillamook County. They are an accredited land trust with staff for landowner outreach, land or easement acquisition for conservation, and stewardship of these holdings.

McKenzie River Trust has agreed to continue such work in these portions of our service area. They are an accredited land trust with staff for landowner outreach, land or easement acquisition for conservation, and stewardship of these holdings. They have accepted one of our conservation easements in 2023 and we expect they will accept two or three of our easements in 2024. This funding supports those efforts as well as provide additional funding for more conservation work.
