Mission
The Rio Blanco County Historical Society, Inc. serves as the steward organization over the White River Museum and its holdings. The White River Museum collects, preserves, interprets, and shares a community-based social history collection that reflects the lived experiences of the people of the Meeker area and the White River Valley. Through objects of everyday life, we connect past and present, foster stewardship of local heritage, and ensure these stories endure for future generations. The White River Museum houses a community-based social history collectionover 250,000 objects that document the everyday lives, work, and culture of the people who have called the Meeker area home.The mission of the White River Museum is to collect, preserve, interpret, and share the community-based social history of the Meeker area and the White River Valley, honoring the lives, work, and everyday experiences of the people who have shaped this place.
