Mission
Children of the Rainforest (COTR) exists to support the Yawanawa communities of Acre, Brazil revitalize their language and preserve their cultural traditions. These actions empower the Yawanawa to continue to steward and protect their approximately 500,000 acres of Amazon rainforest reserve Terra Indigena do Rio Gregorio. COTR funds on-going construction and operations of Isku Vakehuhu, Yawanawa School of Language and Culture, assists in Intercultural Immersions providing a source of sustainable economy through Ethnotourism, and manages the Nuke Tsai Initiative that is revitalizing the critically endangered Yawanawa language.
