Mission
Gift of Giving is a volunteer led nonprofit providing barrier-free access to essential goods, food, education, support services for individuals and families in rural North Central Iowa. The organization connects community members to clothing, household items, food resources, and educational opportunities while reducing stigma and increasing access. Core programs include a low-cost thrift and redistribution initiative that re-homes essential goods and diverts over 92,000 pounds of materials from landfills annually; seasonal and emergency support providing clothing, food, and holiday assistance; the Fresh Pathways Project, which integrates hydroponic food production and nutrition education; and youth and family enrichment programs offering school supplies, creative learning, and safe community space.
