Mission
In 2017, Maplewood Stables celebrated its 40th anniversary, and in reflecting on our achievements in the competition, training and breeding arenas, Ive realized that none of this would be possible without the knowledge Ive gleaned over the decades. As a lifelong student of the horse, my passion is to inspire others to follow that same path. Therefore, in 2018 we launched Goodtoknow Horses, a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation, in order to expandour educational opportunities to those who might not otherwise be able to afford to continue their educations. Maplewood is a 165-acre property in Reno, Nevada, that serves an educational hub to not onlyeducate riders and trainers, but also all horse peopleyoung and old who wish to become better horsemen, ultimately for the benefit of the horse. In addition to our successful Hunter/Jumper show barn,Maplewood includes a sport horse breeding operation, a young horse training center, a thriving lesson program, riding camps for children and adults
