Protect and preserve the environment for the benefit of the public through the mitigation and prevention of CO2 emissions by acquiring and retiring fossil fuel rights, restoring lands and waters impacted by fossil fuel resource extraction, and supporting communities adversely affected by the clean energy transition.Carbon Endowments primary focus is retiring coal reserves located on or under ecologically significant landscapes, and providing support to local, public communities. Carbon Endowment believes that charitable retirement of coal in the United States will accelerate the socioeconomic shift toward renewable energy and a low-carbon future.
