Mission
Wheels of Progress Inc. is a New York City-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to helping people with disabilities and seniors maintain their freedom, independence, dignity, stability, and connection to community.Our mission is to equip individuals with the knowledge, tools, training, peer support, and community relationships they need to navigate daily life, manage their benefits, build financial stability, access workforce opportunities, understand their rights, and participate more fully in civic and community life.Wheels of Progress focuses on practical, community-based education, empowerment, and relationship-building. We assist members in understanding and managing essential benefits and systems, including Medicaid, Medicare, Social Security benefits such as SSI and SSDI, food assistance programs, housing-related supports, transportation resources, and other public benefits that directly affect their ability to live independently.Through workshops, one-on-one guidanc
