Mission

The Connecticut Oral Health Initiative (COHI), a 501(c)3 organization, promotes oral health for all Connecticut residents, with a focus on the most vulnerable populations, including low-income families, children, and older adults. In partnership with stakeholders, providers, and health advocates, we were successful in maintaining Medicaid reimbursement rates and services, protecting oral health services in schools, furthering workforce solutions to improve access to care, advocating for teledental authorization and access, educating the public about dental aerosols and considerations during COVID-19, and integrating oral health into health systems. COHI continues to advocate for increasing access to care, educating the public and decision makers on oral health, and partnering with others to advance oral health access and equity.
