Mission

THE AIM OF THE DEMING INSTITUTE IS TO ENRICH SOCIETY THROUGH THE DEMING PHILOSOPHY. DEMING IS A TIMELESS, COLLABORATIVE LEADERSHIP APPROACH THAT ENABLES ORGANIZATIONS AND INDIVIDUALS TO CONTINUALLY IMPROVE, WITH THE AIM FOR EVERYONE TO WIN. FOR MORE THAN 30 YEARS, THE INSTITUTE HAS EQUIPPED PEOPLE WITH A UNIQUE LENS THROUGH WHICH GREAT TRANSFORMATIONS ARE MADE. OUR RESOURCES AND NETWORK OF PARTNERS SUPPORT PEOPLE IN TAKING BOLD ACTION TO COUNTERACT THE NEGATIVE IMPACTS OF THE TRADITIONAL COMMAND-AND-CONTROL MANAGEMENT STYLE. THE INSTITUTE HELPS LEADERS, MANAGERS, EDUCATION PROFESSIONALS, AND OTHERS USE THE DEMING SYSTEM OF PROFOUND KNOWLEDGE (SOPK) TO UNDERSTAND THEIR ORGANIZATION AS A SYSTEM, LEARN TO APPRECIATE VARIATION AND USE DATA, UNDERSTAND BASIC PSYCHOLOGY TO CREATE A SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT AND GAIN NEW INSIGHTS BY USING KNOWLEDGE, NOT JUST INFORMATION. OUR VISION IS FOR THE SYSTEM OF PROFOUND KNOWLEDGE TO BE THE STANDARD LENS PEOPLE USE TO UNDERSTAND AND IMPROVE THE WORLD.
