Mission
Torkomada is an arts-and-culture not-for-profit organization, promoting cross-cultural understanding through cultural diplomacy, folk and traditional dances, international education, lectures, foreign language pedagogy, and genocide prevention. The organization brings Middle Eastern and North African (MENA) cultural dance artists to NYC, serving underprivileged, marginalized and indigenous communities of color to increase international understanding and to bridge Arab and non-Arab audiences in the U.S. Torkomada empowers BIPOC communities, immigrants and cultural artists in a dynamic, inclusive and intellectually engaging environment, contributing to a community and a thriving sustainable New York City.
