Mission
Greyhound Adoption of Ohio, Inc (GAO) finds loving homes for retired racing greyhound, as an alternative to euthanasia. In order to ensure these greyhounds are placed in appropriate homes, potential adopters fill out an application, including personal and veterinary references, followed by an in-person interview, and possible home visit. After adoption, the organization provides follow-up and support for the life of the greyhound. Since its inception in 1995, GAO has placed more than 3000 of these wonderful animals. GAO functions 7 days a week, 12 months a year, through the efforts of the director and many volunteers
