Mission

The buildingcommunityWORKSHOP is a Texas-based nonprofit community design centerseeking to improve the livability and viability of communities through the practice of thoughtful design and making. We enrich the lives of residents by bringing design thinking to areas of our cities where resources are most scarce. To do so, [bc] recognizes that it must first understand the social, economic, and environmental issues facing a community before beginning work.[bc] partners with mission-aligned nonprofits to deliver architectural and project management services related to affordable home design and production, including single family, multifamily and prefabricated housing, and creative placemaking initiatives in Dallas and Brownsville,TX. We lend our grant writing expertise to help smaller nonprofits achieve their missions in the neighborhoods we have committed to.
