Mission
Founded in 1920, the ESU is a nonprofit, nonpolitical organization, which utilizes English as a catalyst to foster global understanding and good will by providing educational opportunities and cultural exchange for students, educators, and recent immigrants.Under the banner "English in Action," ESU members work together locally and nationally through a variety of programs. ESU national programs are supported by its unrestricted endowment and corporate and foundation grants as well as by the generosity of its members, who benefit from the personal relationships and international exposure gained from English in Action activities and events while they provide financial and volunteer support to sustain English in Action educational programs.
