Mission
Glen Cove C.A.R.E.S. was founded in recognition of a need and desire to provide assistance to residents of Glen Cove and other communities coping with the crisis of cancer, and to provide educational outreach to prevent its spread. It is a not-for-profit, non-sectarian, non-salaried corporation which seeks to provide access to counseling and early detection services to all residents in need. Glen Cove C.A.R.E.S., Inc. is separate and apart from any other cancer organization. It receives no governmental funds and depends on gifts, grants, and contributions from the public, including individuals, foundations and corporations. These funds are to be received through private donations and a variety of fund raising activities. The organization is dedicated to providing these services, not only by providing financial assistance, but also to act as a clearing house and referral center for the many volunteers in our community who wish to help in the fight against cancer.
