SOUTHEASTERN REGION LEGACY OF LIGHT FOUNDATION

The Rhoers of Beta Delta Sigma seek to utilize this funding to support youth living in Tallahassees designated Promise Zones-areas that face significant socioeconomic challenges such as high unemployment poverty and under-resourced schools. Our program aims to host a special distribution day before the winter break providing care packages to young women in these communities. These care packages are designed not only to meet immediate needs but also to offer emotional support and empowerment. Each package will include a warm fleece jacket nutritious non-perishable snacks personal letters of encouragement from the Rhoers feminine hygiene products and essential toiletries like body wash and lotion. Additionally we will provide a comprehensive resource guide detailing local programs and services that can assist with food clothing hygiene products and other necessities during the holiday season. Guest Speakers: Invite experts in cardiology and public health to discuss heart health issues specific to women of color. Educational Materials: Develop and distribute folders containing heart health information dietary guidelines and local health resources. Health Screenings: Provide on-site health screenings such as blood pressure and cholesterol checks. Additional Activities: Host heart-healthy cooking demonstrations and fitness workshops. "
