It Takes a Village is a 501 c3 nonprofit organization founded by an African American veterinarian Dr. Vernard Hodges. Dr. Hodges attended Fort Valley State University a prominent agricultural Historical Black College or University. He started It Takes a Village to expose children to careers in STEM particularly veterinary and agricultural sciences.
