THE MISSION OF THE CHARLTON SCHOOL IS TO PROVIDE EFFECTIVE THERAPEUTIC, RESIDENTIAL, EDUCATIONAL AND AFTERCARE SERVICES TO YOUNG WOMEN AND THEIR FAMILIES WHO HAVE ENCOUNTERED SIGNIFICANT PROBLEMS IN THEIR LIVES. "THE MISSION IS SUPPORTED BY THE PRACTICE OF ADVANCED PROFESSIONAL STRATEGIES WHICH NURTURE AND GUIDE THE CLIENTS TOWARD FULFILLING THEIR POTENTIAL AS PRODUCTIVE PARTICIPANTS IN THEIR COMMUNITIES AND THE RECOGNITION OF THE NEEDS AND RIGHTS OF ALL INDIVIDUALS TO BE TREATED WITH KINDNESS, FAIRNESS AND RESPECT, AND THE ACKNOWLEDGMENT OF OUR BELIEF IN THE INDIVIDUAL'S ABILITY AND POTENTIAL FOR SELF EMPOWERMENT AND FULFILLMENT. THE MISSION WILL BE DYNAMIC AND WILL INCLUDE LONG-TERM SUPPORT FOR THE GIRLS AFTER DISCHARGE".
